Indiana enters this Big Ten road contest on a three-game winning streak and holding an impressive 11-3 overall record. The Hoosiers’ offense is among the more efficient in the country, averaging over 85 points per outing, while their defense limits opponents to just over 67 points per game. Lamar Wilkerson leads Indiana at 19.2 PPG and has been a reliable scoring threat from both inside and beyond the arc. Complementing him is Tucker DeVries, who adds balance and experience to the group, with Conor Enright facilitating at the point with quality assist-to-turnover metrics (4.9). Indiana’s ability to share the ball, with almost 19 assists per game, speaks to an unselfish offensive identity.
Maryland has struggled to find consistency in the 2025-26 season. At 7-7 overall and still searching for its first Big Ten win, the Terrapins have dropped four of their last five games. Their offensive efficiency lags behind Indiana’s, with the Terps shooting just 40% from the field so far this season. The absence of forward Pharrel Payne, out since mid-December with a leg injury, has undercut Maryland’s inside presence. David Coit leads Maryland with 13.3 PPG, but doesn’t provide the same volume threat as Wilkerson. Maryland’s defense has allowed nearly 78 PPG, leaving them vulnerable against elite scoring attacks.
This is a big game when looking at the early standings in the Big Ten. Both of these teams are looking up at undefeated teams like Nebraska and Michigan already. A loss fo rthe Terps would put them even further behind the pace set by those schools, while Indiana can stay within a game in the loss column of those squads in the Big Ten standings with a victory.
