Key Storylines
Louisville’s elite offensive numbers place them among the nation’s most efficient scoring teams this season, routinely surpassing 80 points per outing and averaging just under 87 points per game.
North Carolina is undefeated at home (15-0) and boasts a strong record against ranked teams, but the absence of Caleb Wilson due to injury has the potential to hold them back somewhat.
The ACC race is tight, with both teams tied in the conference standings at 9-5 in ACC play this year, making this a huge game for both of these programs.
Key Players
Louisville Cardinals
Mikel Brown Jr. – The freshman has been sensational lately, posting multiple 20+ point games and earning national player of the week honors after a historic 45-point outing. His ability to create and score will be Louisville’s key to this contest.
Ryan Conwell – Louisville’s leading scorer, averaging just under 20 points per game with consistent shooting efficiency. He spreads the floor and forces defensive attention from opponents at all times.
North Carolina Tar Heels
Henri Veesaar – When healthy and active, Veesaar controls the paint and boards, giving North Carolina a two-headed frontcourt threat very few ACC teams can ignore.
Seth Trimble – Trimble is one of three players averaging double-digits in scoring this year for the Tar Heels. With Wilson out, he will likely see his offensive usage rate increase and he will need to score even more to lead his team to a win.

Final Thoughts
I'm going to take North Carolina to cover the spread as a slight underdog in this contest. My projections give a slight edge to the Tar Heels in the moneyline market as well, as they should be able to get across the line at home, as they have done in every opportunity they have had so far. Look for the Heels to stay perfect at the Dean Dome at the expense of a Louisville team with a losing record on the road for the year.
