The Gators’ frontcourt of Rueben Chinyelu and Thomas Haugh gives them an inside edge on both ends of the floor, and Florida has defended well while improving offensively.
The Tigers have struggled early in league play and are dealing with the absence of key contributors like Jalen Reed for the season and point guard Dedan Thomas Jr. with a lower leg injury. LSU’s offensive output has remained respectable, but its inconsistency on defense suggests an uphill battle on the road. The big question for the Tigers will be whether or not they can rebound the basketball effectively enough to hang around in this matchup.
Florida’s recent stretch of home dominance further tilts the scales toward the Gators. The Gators come into this game with an 8-0 record at home this year, while LSU is just 1-2 in true road games for the season.
