The Houston Astros will face the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. The Astros are a game out of the final American League Wild Card spot with just days left in the regular season. They need to win the majority of their games in this series to have a chance to make it into postseason play. On the mound for Houston is Jason Alexander. He enters with a 4-2 record and a 4.83 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP. He’s had mixed results recently and is not necessarily who the Astros want on the hill in a spot this important. Kyle Hendricks will get the start for the Angels in this contest. He carries an 8-10 record with a 4.79 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. The Astros have had success against Angels starters and will try to continue to do so against Hendricks here.
Houston has seen turbulence lately. They snapped a five-game losing streak with an 11-5 win over Oakland on Thursday. Prior to that, they had multiple games where their offense stalled.
