Los Angeles Angels vs Kansas City Royals Prediction: KC Looks to Sweep LA At Home

The series finale between the Los Angeles Angels and Kansas City Royals on Sunday night features two sub-.500 teams that are playing on national television for reasons that don't make a lot of sense to me. Kansas City has controlled the first two games of this set, including a dominant 12-1 win on Saturday, and enters this Angels vs Royals matchup with confidence at the plate. The Angels have dropped six of their last seven and are searching for stability both on the mound and at the plate heading into this one.

Kansas City holds the edge going into this series finale. Lugo has been one of the more reliable starters early in the season, limiting damage and keeping hitters off balance. Detmers, while capable, has not translated his upside into consistent results, and the Angels have struggled to support him.
Offensively, the Royals are in a much better rhythm. Their lineup has produced consistent run totals in this series, while the Angels have been held to just four runs across two games. Unless Los Angeles finds a way to generate early offense and ease pressure on its pitching staff, this shapes up as another difficult night for them. I expect Kansas City to complete the sweep with a solid performance both at the plate and on the bump.
