Brando Pericic vs Elisha Ellison Prediction - 9/27/2025

Brando Pericic and Elisha Ellison will fight in the UFC heavyweight division during the prelims of Saturday's UFC Fight Night from Australia. Both fighters are making their UFC debuts in this matchup and both of them have just one loss in their professional MMA careers thus far. Only one man can walk out of the octagon with a win in this fight. Here, I tell you who I think that will be as I make my Brando Pericic vs Elisha Ellison prediction.
Brando Pericic | Elisha Ellison | |
|---|---|---|
Age | 31 | 28 |
Height | 6'5" | 6'5" |
Reach | 79" | 78" |
Stance | Orthodox | Orthodox |
Record | 4-1 | 5-1 |
Brando Pericic hails from South Australia and is fighting on home soil in his UFC debut. Pericic enters the UFC with a 4-1 record, with all of his wins coming by stoppage. His sole loss was a submission defeat to Randall Rayment in a HEX Fight Series Heavyweight title bout. Win or lose, it is expected that Pericic fights will feature plenty of excitement and will end inside the distance.
Elisha Ellison makes his UFC debut with a 5-1 record, with all of his victories coming in stoppages. His lone loss was a submission defeat at a Muckleshoot Fight Night event, which I had to check to make sure was a real MMA promotion. Ellison's limited experience in high-level competition raises questions about his ability to handle the pressure of the UFC stage. But he is like Pericic in that he comes into his fights with the intention of ending things early.
Brando Pericic is favored to win at -225, while Elisha Ellison is the underdog at +185. The betting odds for this fight imply that a quick finish is expected. The over/under for this fight is set at 1.5 rounds and the under is heavily favored at -220, with the over at +170.
These fighters have taken part in 11 combined fights in their MMA careers. Of those 11 fights, just one lasted into the second round. That fight was Pericic's submission loss to Randall Rayment in 2024 and it would be a surprise if this fight lasted into the second round.
No matter who wins this fight, the victory is expected to come quickly and it is expected to come by knockout. In my opinion, Pericic's knockout power and aggressive approach are likely to overwhelm Ellison early in the fight. If Ellison can withstand the initial onslaught and take the fight into the later rounds, he may have a chance to capitalize on some fatigue from Pericic. But I don't think we will get to that point and my best bet for this fight is for Pericic to win by knockout.
