The Hawks are operating without Trae Young due to a knee injury and have had to adjust on the fly. Despite that, they just earned a convincing 128‑108 road victory over the Indiana Pacers, where eight players scored in double digits. Their offense looked composed even in Young’s absence and Atlanta will look for a repeat performance in this matchup.
The Cavaliers are dealing with several key names banged up going into this matchup. Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen are questionable. Darius Garland and Max Strus are still out of action. The Cavs fell 112‑101 to the Toronto Raptors in their last game and they will try to snap a two-game losing streak with a win at home here.
The Hawks rank fourth in the league in opponent three‑point percentage allowed this season. Cleveland ranks 25th in that same category. With Atlanta’s roster of capable shooters and the Cavaliers’ perimeter defense struggling, the visitors can potentially exploit that mismatch.

My best bet for this key contest in the Eastern Conference is for the game to stay under the total. Both teams are compromised from a health standpoint in a way that will benefit the defenses more than the offenses. Expect Trae Young's absence and the potential absence of Donovan Mitchell to help keep the scoring down here and for the under to cash in one of the best games of the night in the NBA on Sunday.
