Denver arrives riding high after a historic Christmas Day performance from Nikola Jokić, who exploded for one of the greatest individual games in recent history, pouring in 56 points alongside 16 rebounds and 15 assists to secure a 142-138 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Can Jokic and the Nuggets build on that performance in Orlando? Here, I attempt to answer that question by making my Nuggets vs Magic prediction.

Denver enters this game with momentum. Nikola Jokić delivered a historic Christmas Day performance, recording a 56-point triple-double in an overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. His MVP-caliber play has been the engine behind Denver’s top-ranked scoring attack in the league. However, Denver is dealing with a host of injuries. Forward Cameron Johnson is expected to miss 4–6 weeks after a knee issue, adding to earlier absences for Christian Braun and Aaron Gordon, which could dampen the team's depth and three-point shooting.
Orlando’s recent form has been inconsistent, coming off a 120–105 loss to the Charlotte Hornets in which they struggled to contain Charlotte's perimeter shooting. The Magic’s injury woes have also impacted their rotation this month. Star Franz Wagner has been listed as out with an ankle sprain in recent games and key guard Jalen Suggs has been questionable. Paolo Banchero remains Orlando’s primary offensive weapon, though his recent production hasn’t fully compensated for missing surrounding support pieces. This is also the second game of a back-to-back for the Magic, which could make things even harder on them.

I'm going to lay the points with the Nuggets in this game. If these teams were on equal rest going into this contest, I'd give the Magic a slight edge at home. But with Orlando playing on the second leg of a back-to-back and missing Wagner, I think that Jokic and the Nuggets will take care of business once again tonight.
