The Golden State Warriors will visit the San Antonio Spurs in an important early-season game in the Western Conference. The Spurs are off to a great start this season and will try to keep their unbeaten start at home going against a Warriors team that has struggled on the road on a consistent basis. San Antonio has become a team to reckon with, opening the season 8‑2 and undefeated at home (5‑0). The pairing of Victor Wembanyama (25.7 PPG and 12.8 RPG) and Stephon Castle (18.5 PPG, 7.7 APG) has given the Spurs a credible identity. They also have former Clutch Player of the Year De'Aaron Fox back after some early injury absences and the fact that they could get even better should be scary for the rest of the league.
Golden State is struggling on the road early this season. They are just 1‑5 away from home and arrive in San Antonio on the second night of a back‑to‑back after a 126‑102 loss in Oklahoma City. They turned the ball over 21 times and never got on track offensively against the Thunder. The Warriors are 5-1 at home but have not been able to get things on track on the road whatsoever.
It will be interesting to see how the Warriors handle playing on the second night of a back-to-back here. They are a veteran team and that would lead me to believe that they could rest some of their older players after they played last night. But no major absences have been confirmed at the time of this writing.

This isn't a great situational spot for the Warriors. They are the older team, playing on the road on the second leg of a back-to-back. All of that should add up to the Spurs taking care of business and covering the spread in this game. Warriors fans will be able to enjoy the inevitable clips of Steph Curry hitting his incredible shot in the Olympics over Victor Wembanyama that will be shown during breaks in this game. But they won't be able to enjoy much else about this one.
