The Phoenix Suns (3-5) will host the LA Clippers (3-4) on Thursday night at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix. Both teams are striving to break out of early-season slumps and will be looking to take advantage of this opportunity to beat a struggling opponent. The Suns return home after losing on the road on Tuesday night. The Suns are 3-1 at home and 0-4 on the road. Phoenix will try to bounce back from their most recent outing, where they fell behind by as many as 24 points in a 118-107 loss to the Golden State Warriors. Devin Booker put in 38 points in that game but the lack of a solid supporting cast around him has been a problem this year.
The Clippers were trounced 126-107 by the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday. LA shot just 41% from the field and gave up 52% shooting in that game. The Clippers' offense has been sluggish this season (111.7 PPG, 27th in the NBA).
Injuries are also a concern for the Clippers going into this game. They have been without Kawhi Leonard (knee) and Bradley Beal (ankle) in recent games. Beal is expected to be back for this contest, but James Harden is listed as out for this contest instead.
The Suns also have question marks from an injury standpoint. Dillon Brooks (groin) is listed as out for this game. But Jalen Green is probable after missing a large chunk of the season so far. His return could inject some much-needed life into the Suns around Booker.

When healthy, the Clippers are probably better than the Phoenix Suns right now. But the Clippers are not healthy and that should cost them this contest. Phoenix should take advantage of the injuries to Harden and Leonard and the return of Bradley Beal might be better for the Suns than it is the Clippers at this point. I'll lay the points with Phoenix in the only game in the NBA on Thursday night.
