The Memphis Grizzlies visit the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night in one of two games on the NBA schedule. Both teams are coming off wins in their most recent games and will try to continue climing the Western Conference standings with a win in Minneapolis. Minnesota enters this contest as a solid home favorite thanks to a 17-9 record and a 9-4 record on their home floor. The Timberwolves have won two games in a row, including a 127-120 triumph over the Golden State Warriors while missing star Anthony Edwards. Edwards, the team’s leading scorer, is listed as questionable with right foot issues and his status will be critical for bettors to monitor right up until tipoff. Veteran Mike Conley is out with Achilles tendinopathy.
The Grizzlies come in with a 12-14 record but have won three of their last four games. They just rolled over the Los Angeles Clippers 121-103, led by Jaren Jackson Jr.’s 31 points and a breakout performance from sharpshooter Cam Spencer. Spencer scorched the nets with 27 points and seven three-pointers. Memphis continues to struggle with injuries and roster limitations, as big man Zach Edey is out for at least four weeks with an ankle issue and guard John Konchar recently underwent thumb surgery. Ja Morant is listed as questionable with an ankle injury, while several role players are out for this contest like Ty Jerome and Scotty Pippen Jr.

The Grizzlies are incredibly banged up going into this contest and that should prevent them from being as competitive as they need to be to cover the spread. Memphis has won three of its last four games, but those wins have come against struggling opponents, including two wins over the Clippers. I'll lay the points with Minnesota in this matchup, as they should be able to impose their will on both ends of the floor against the short-handed Grizzlies.
