The Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors will meet in an NBA matchup on Friday night from Canada. Both teams got wins in their first games of the season and will test themselves against one another in this contest. Milwaukee opened the year with a strong showing, winning their opener over the Washington Wizards behind a 37-point, 14-rebound effort by Giannis Antetokounmpo. Their pace was up, ball movement improved, and six other Bucks scored in double-figures. This will be their first road test of the season and it will be interesting to see if Giannis and the Bucks can sustain the level they showed in their opener in a hostile environment.
Toronto has also started at 1-0. They put up 138 points in their opener and showcased balanced scoring led by former New York Knick RJ Barrett. They had a 45-point third quarter to blow open their first game. Now they have home-court advantage and are slight favorites to improve to 2-0 on the year.
The Bucks’ record on the road has trailed their home performance in recent seasons, as is the case with most teams in the NBA. They have tended to struggle away from Milwaukee against the Raptors in particular. If that trend continues, it could be the Bucks left to question themselves after this game is completed.
Last season, the Bucks swept Toronto 3-0 in the regular season. That included a 130-112 win on January 17, where Giannis had a 35-point, 13-rebound game. But Toronto was better against the spread last season and will try to get another win against the spread by winning this game as a slight favorite.
Both of these teams covered the spread in their first games of the season. The Bucks got the job done as a favorite against Washington and the Raptors won out right as an underdog against Atlanta. Both teams went over the total in their first games of the year.

We should be in for another high-scoring game for both of these teams after they lit up the scoreboard on Wednesday night. As for the outcome of this contest, I'll take the Raptors to get the win on their home floor. Giannis is the best player on the court in this game, but the Raptors' depth around their top players could end up being the difference maker in what should be an entertaining game from Toronto.
