The Wizards are missing key figures including Trae Young, who is out through at least mid-February with a quadriceps injury, and Cam Whitmore is lost for the season with a shoulder condition. Additional absences include Tristan Vukcevic, Bilal Coulibaly, and Khris Middleton. These gaps leave Washington thin on both offense and defense, which has contributed to what has been another horrible season for the franchise.
Sacramento is without Domantas Sabonis due to a knee injury and Keegan Murray due to an ankle issue, which weakens their frontcourt and rebounding presence. However, the Kings have recently shown signs of improved cohesion, capturing three straight home wins over the Lakers, Rockets, and Knicks.

That means we could see a game where both teams get a lot of good looks at the basket, even if these teams have struggled to win games with their offenses in the past.
This is another game on the Friday schedule where the draft implications could be more important than the actual result of the game. Both of these teams are in last place in their divisions and they are not likely to get close to competing for a playoff berth in the second half of the season. But there will be a winner and a loser here, and it's worth asking which will benefit more from this game.
