Colorado is playing their best hockey of the season and the best hockey in the league. The Avalanche are 17-1-5 overall and have strung together 10 straight wins. Their latest win came in a dominant 6–0 shutout over the San Jose Sharks, extending a shutout streak across three games.
Minnesota has also hit a hot streak, collecting six straight wins and posting an 8–1–1 record over their last 10 outings. The Wild will try to end the historic hot streak of the Avs in this matchup to keep their own winning streak alive and well.
Colorado will turn to Scott Wedgewood, who carries a 13-1-2 record this season with a 2.09 goals-against average and .918 save percentage. Wedgewood has been a huge reason for Colorado's success so far this season.
