Switzerland arrives with a significantly stronger roster filled with established National Hockey League talent, while France enters the tournament with far more modest expectations. Here, I break down this contest on the Olympic ice and bring you my France vs Switzerland prediction.

Goaltending will play a significant role in establishing early control for both squads. Switzerland’s likely starter is Akira Schmid, who has seen quality minutes with the Vegas Golden Knights and is a stable last line of defense. France’s goaltending situation is viewed as less consistent, with no current NHL talent on their roster in goal. That difference in quality in net could end up deciding this contest.
The offensive firepower on Switzerland’s side should not be overlooked going into this tournament. Instead of taking Switzerland on the puckline, I think it would be smart to take the over here instead. Switzerland should do plenty of scoring, while France will contribute at least something on the scoreboard to help push this one over that total in Milan.
