Minnesota Wild vs Dallas Stars Prediction - 10/14/2025

The Dallas Stars will host the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. Dallas enters this game with an unbeaten record and they will look for a third win in a row by beating Minnesota, who has won two of their first three games. Before the puck drops in Dallas, keep reading to get my thoughts on this game, including my Wild vs Stars prediction.
The Stars have started the season at 2–0–0 and look sharp offensively. They most recently got a 5–4 shootout win over the Colorado Avalanche and beat the Winnipeg Jets as well. The Stars are playing their home opener here and will try to take advantage of being on home ice. Minnesota is 2–1–0 early in the season. The Wild recently weathered a late rally by the Kings to win 4–3 in a shootout after blowing a 3-0 lead. The Wild have been inconsistent at times but things have worked well for them so far.
Dallas will likely rely on Jake Oettinger, who made 35 saves in the shootout win over Colorado. His 3.84 GAA is high, but he will try to rebound from that here. Minnesota recently turned to Jesper Wallstedt, who made 31 saves in his debut. But it will likely be Filip Gustavsson in net in this game after he split his first two games in goal.
For Dallas, the top trio of Jason Robertson, Mikko Rantanen, and Tyler Seguin has been strong. Robertson has two goals already, while Seguin scored the overtime winner against Minnesota in their last matchup. On Minnesota’s side, Kirill Kaprizov and Marco Rossi are the offensive pillars. Kaprizov has already tallied three goals and four assists this season, while Rossi delivered the shootout winner against the Kings.
Player | Prop Suggestion |
|---|---|
Jason Robertson | Over 0.5 points |
Mikko Rantanen | Over 0.5 points |
Kirill Kaprizov | Over 0.5 goals + assists |
Marco Rossi | Anytime goalscorer |
Score Projection: Wild 2 – Stars 5
Win Probability: Wild 35%, Stars 65%
The Stars are off to a great start this season and I expect them to sustain their high level of play in this game. I'll go with Dallas to win and cover the puckline at home in this contest, as it's possible that the Stars play even better now that they are on home ice for the first time this year. Minnesota has struggled on defense over their last two games and I expect that to continue against a Stars team that is playing at an elite level.
