Winnipeg enters this game with positive momentum after a dominant 5-1 victory over the Washington Capitals in their most recent outing, snapping a three-game losing streak and giving their confidence a significant lift. Gabriel Vilardi had a multi-goal performance, and goaltender Connor Hellebuyck returned from knee surgery to make 24 saves in that win.
Ottawa’s form has been rough of late, having lost four of its last five games. The Senators posted a 6-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets in which Tim Stutzle scored twice and Drake Batherson had a goal and two assists.
