The Philadelphia Flyers will face off against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night in a game that is important for both clubs as they jockey for position in the Eastern Conference. They enter this game off a win against the Edmonton Oilers, one where they held the high-octane offense of the Oilers to just one goal. The Flyers come into this game having lost three games in a row and four of their last five. Philadelphia has earned at least a point in four straight games, but their three straight losses have all come in overtime or via shootout.
In net, the Canadiens will likely Jakub Dobes. Dobes enters this contest with an 11-5-2 record for the season, but his 3.03 GAA is a sign that there is room for improvement for him. The Flyers are likely to go with Dan Vladar in net. Vladar has been solid this season with a 2.48 GAA that puts him in the top half of the league among starting netminders.
For the Flyers, dynamic forwards like Trevor Zegras and Travis Konecny represent their biggest offensive threats. If they can find get pucks to the net, Philadelphia can stay competitive. Montreal’s offense features talent in the form of Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki, who have driven much of the Canadiens’ scoring. Suzuki has 9 goals and 28 assists this season, whiel Caulfield leads the Habs in goals with 17.
