Pittsburgh enters this game with four losses in their last five games. The Penguins are solid across 5v5 situations and have a balanced attack that has been effective against middle-tier opponents. But they have had trouble in tight games recently, with an overtime loss and a shootout loss within the last three games.
The Kraken return from a five-game road trip that saw them go 1-3-1, presenting a chance for Seattle to reset on home ice and get back into the win column. Seattle won the only prior meeting between these teams this season in overtime, giving them a psychological edge to build on here.
Pittsburgh is likely to deploy Stuart Skinner for this contest. Skinner has been a reliable netminder with a 2.72 goals-against average that should help the Penguins compete on the road here. For Seattle, Joey Daccord has posted respectable numbers this season, including a 2.84 GAA and a save percentage of .902.
