Their visitors are the St. Louis Blues (7‑9‑6), a team looking to carry recent momentum forward after a gritty road win in their last game. The Rangers have lost four games in a row, most recently dropping a 3–2 decision to the Utah Mammoth. Their lack of energy and cohesion was noted by coach Mike Sullivan, particularly in puck battles and foot race wins. Offense has been hard to come by, and defensive lapses haven’t helped. The Blues snapped a losing streak of their own by edging out the New York Islanders thanks in part to a late-game stand by Jordan Binnington, who delivered big saves down the stretch.
St. Louis will likely ride with Jordan Binnington, who in his most recent start stopped 30 shots and carried a shutout deep into the game. According to recent data, he has a .880 save percentage this season, but he’s coming in with some confidence. Igor Shesterkin will get the start for New York. He is one of the only bright spots for the Rangers in what has been a dismal year for them.
For the Rangers, Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad remain the key offensive weapons. Adam Fox has also been very good with a team-high 16 assists on the year. On the Blues’ side, Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou continue to carry much of the offensive load, but depth has been a problem. The return of Jake Neighbours from injury offers a boost to St. Louis’ attack.

It's hard to feel confident in either of these teams to win a hockey game right now, based on what we've seen from them throughout this year. But I'll take the Blues to win this contest as an underdog, as they should take advantage of the fact that the Rangers are 1-7-1 at home on the season.
