Vegas enters this contest having won three straight games, including their return from the Olympic break against the LA Kings on Wednesday. Washington has gone 6-3-1 over its last 10 outings. The Capitals also won their return to action after the break, defeating the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday and only surrendering one goal in that contest.
Goaltending
Vegas is expected to turn to Adin Hill, has struggled for the most part this season with a 3.34 GAA that is the worst on the Vegas roster this year. A return to form for Hill would be huge for his team's chances of making a deep playoff run. Washington is likely to counter with Logan Thompson, who has had a very nice season for the Caps with a 2.41 GAA and a .913 save percentage. The Caps should have the edge in goal going into this matchup.
Key skaters
Jack Eichel continues to drive the Golden Knights’ offense, leading the team with just under 70 points and producing at better than a point-per-game pace. Mark Stone remains a two-way anchor, and playing key minutes in all situations. On the Washington side, Tom Wilson is the leader in goals and points with 23 goals and 26 assists so far this year. Dylan Strome has emerged as a consistent playmaker for this group as well.

Still, I'm going to go with Vegas to get the job done on the road in what should be an entertaining game from Washington. Expect the Golden Knights to control possession and pull away late for a 4-2 victory, with the return of key players like Eichel helping to ultimately make the difference in Vegas' favor on Friday night.
