The Winnipeg Jets (2-1-0) will travel to take on the Philadelphia Flyers (1-1-1) on Thursday night. Winnipeg enters the game off two straight wins, while the Flyers got a win in their last game over the defending champion Florida Panthers. Connor Hellebuyck is set to start in net for the Jets. Hellebuyck is playing below his usual standard with a GAA of 3.54 early in the year. Winnipeg turned to Eric Comrie in the 5-2 win over New York. Comrie delivered a strong performance in that outing, but Hellebuyck should be back in goal for this contest. Philadelphia’s Dan Vladar earned the nod and stopped 24 shots in their win over Florida. He’ll need to be sharp against a quality Jets attack.
Mark Scheifele continues to be Winnipeg’s offensive engine. In addition to his two-goal night vs the Kings, he’s already racked up a total of six points on the year. Kyle Connor, Gabriel Vilardi, and defenseman Josh Morrissey all provide secondary firepower for the Jets.
For Philadelphia, Sean Couturier’s return to offensive form is timely. He has two goals and two assists to lead the Flyers with four points. Tyson Foerster has also opened the season with points in three straight games.

This should be a close game from Philadelphia. But I will give the upper hand to the Winnipeg Jets here. Hellebuyck should be back in goal for this game and we should see some positive regression from him after a rough start to his season. I'll take the Jets to get their second straight win on the road to open the season at the expense of Philly.
