The Toronto Argonauts will head west to take on the BC Lions at BC Place on Friday night. BC is the biggest favourite of the week in the CFL and will try to defend its home field to get a huge win in the West Division playoff race. BC is in a must-win mode to help its playoff positioning. Their 7-7 record puts them in a tie with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for third place in the West. While they are favoured here, they can’t take Toronto lightly. Toronto has little margin for error and is relying on its offense to bail them out late in the season.
BC’s offense has been humming. They lead the league in passing yards per game and average over 430 total yards per outing. The Lions scored over 50 points in their last game and will try to build on that this week. Toronto’s defense has struggled, surrendering an average of 31.3 points per game and giving up more than 100 rushing yards per game. But Toronto's offense is in the top three in the CFL in scoring average and they will try to make up for their defensive shortcomings by scoring in bunches.
BC’s starter is Nathan Rourke. He has ranks third in the CFL in passing yards and has already delivered several big games this season. In BC’s latest 52–23 win, he went 20/24 for 331 yards and two touchdowns. Toronto’s signal-caller appears to be Nick Arbuckle this week. There were some injury concerns surrounding Arbuckle earlier in the week. But the quarterback with the second-most passing yards in the CFL this season appears to be good to go.

Everything I have evaluated in this game points to BC winning handily and covering the spread at home. The Lions should put pressure on Arbuckle, who is not at 100% physically going into this contest. BC is also poised to take advantage of the struggles of Toronto on the road. The Argos are 2-4 away from Toronto going into Week 17 and their misery away from Ontario should continue in this matchup from British Columbia.
