The Bowling Green Falcons (2-2) will travel to Athens to face the Ohio Bobcats (2-2) on Saturday afternoon. Both teams survived tough non-conference schedules with 2-2 records. They will now turn their attention to MAC play and try to get a win in their first conference game of the year. Ohio quarterback Parker Navarro has been solid against tough competition. He threw for 290 yards and one touchdown in the team’s 52-35 win over FCS Gardner-Webb. But he was also decent against power conference opponents like West Virginia and Ohio State. His dual-threat skill set gives Ohio more flexibility offensively.
Bowling Green quarterback Drew Pyne has struggled, highlighted by a 131-yard, two-interception performance in a 40-17 loss to Louisville. He has thrown just three touchdown passes through four games on the year.
Ohio running back Sieh Bangura rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns against Gardner-Webb. He has 299 yards on the ground through four games and Ohio could use his contributions to make life easier on Navarro and the passing game.
Bowling Green’s ground game has been less reliable. Kaderris Roberts leads the Falcons with 172 rushing yards on 31 carries. His 5.5 yards per carry average makes him someone the Bobcats will need to key in on when Bowling Green has the ball.

Ohio has a clear advantage on the offensive side of the ball going into this matchup. We have also seen Ohio play a more impressive schedule in non-conference play. They are battle-tested and I expect Ohio to come out sharp to start MAC play. My recommendation for this game is to bet on Ohio to cover the spread in this Saturday afternoon MACtion.
