Delaware vs Liberty Pick & Prediction - 11/1/2025

The Liberty Flames (3-4, 2-1 CUSA) will host the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens (4-3, 2-2 CUSA) at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg on Saturday. Both of these teams are within a game of the .500 mark for the season and a win here would be huge for their hopes of making it to bowl season. Here, I give you a closer look at this matchup in college football, including my Liberty vs Delaware prediction.
The main talking point here is the clash between Delaware’s up-tempo offense and Liberty’s defense. Delaware’s jump to FBS competition this year has been an impressive one. Quarterback Nick Minicucci has thrown for over 2,000 yards with 13 touchdowns and only three interceptions. He also has seven rushing touchdowns.
His top receiver is Kyre Duplessis, who has 35 catches for 495 yards and four touchdowns. Liberty’s offense has struggled to consistently put points on the board, averaging just 19.1 points per game this season. But their defense allows only 21.6 points per game and has kept them in games despite their struggles on offense.
Liberty had a long layoff ahead of this game. The Flames had a 17-day break between games. That much time off means extra time to prepare for an opponent but could also mean rust for the Flames.
Liberty starter Ethan Vasko has thrown for 1,185 yards, six touchdowns, and five interceptions. Delaware has the more efficient quarterback in a vacuum. But Minicucci will have to deal with a solid Liberty defense that could cause him problems if he is pressured regularly.
Score Projection: Liberty 27 – Delaware 23
Win Probability: Liberty 60%, Delaware 40%
If this game was being played in Delaware or on a neutral field, I might take Delaware to get the win. But Liberty should have the edge in this contest on their home turf, as their defense should make things more difficult for Minicucci and the passing game of the Blue Hens. I'll lay the points with Liberty on their home turf here, as they should get to 4-4 on the season and 3-1 in Conference USA play with a win.
