The Eastern Michigan Eagles and Central Michigan Chippewas will meet in a Mid-American Conference rivalry game on Saturday. Both teams have survived non-conference play and will look to get a win in their MAC opener here. Before these in-state conference rivals take the field on Saturday afternoon, continue reading to get my Eastern Michigan vs Central Michigan prediction.
Odds | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
Eastern Michigan | +6.5 | +220 | Over 54.5 |
Central Michigan | -6.5 | -240 | Under 54.5 |
Noah Kim has been a steady presence for Eastern Michigan, leading the offense with 993 passing yards and five touchdowns. He has thrown just two interceptions and he will try to keep his team in this game by keeping passes out of the hands of the Chippewas.
Joe Labas has shown flashes of brilliance for Central Michigan. He has just 422 passing yards and four touchdowns, but the team has given passing reps to four quarterbacks early in the season. He completed 12 of 14 passes for 241 yards and three touchdowns against Wagner last week.
Score Projection: Central Michigan 31 – Eastern Michigan 24
Win Probability: Central Michigan 66%, Eastern Michigan 34%
Central Michigan enters this rivalry game with a better defense and having played a tougher schedule than Eastern Michigan so far this year. The Chippewas have taken care of business against everyone they have faced that wasn't from an elite conference. I expect that trend to continue here and for the Chips to cover the spread as a home favorite this weekend.
