Louisiana vs James Madison Pick & Prediction - 10/11/2025

Louisiana and James Madison will play in the Sun Belt Conference on Saturday afternoon. James Madison is a heavy favorite at home, as they look to improve to 5-1 on the season with a win. Louisiana has an upset in mind, one that would bring them to the .500 mark for the year. Here, I break down this matchup and give you my Louisiana vs James Madison prediction.
Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|
JMU –18.5 | JMU –1200 / Louisiana +700 | 46.5 |
Lunch Winfield took over at quarterback last week for Louisiana. He accounted for five total touchdowns for the Ragin' Cajuns against Marshall last time out. Winfield is questionable for this game and which quarterback takes the field in this game will have a huge impact on how the Louisiana offense performs.
Alonza Barnett III has been efficient through the air for James Madison. He has thrown for 667 passing yards with four touchdown passes and an interception. The Dukes rely more heavily on their running game to move the ball, but Barnett has been a steady hand for them to rely on in the passing game so far this year.
Score Projection: James Madison 35 – Louisiana 21
Win Probability: JMU 90%, Louisiana 10%
I don't think that Louisiana is going to pull off some kind of incredible upset in this game. But I do think that the Ragin' Cajuns have a chance to cover the number here. If Winfield is able to play at quarterback again this week, their offense should be more explosive than it was with Daniel Beale at quarterback. I'll take the points with Louisiana on Saturday afternoon.
