With both the Miami Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Panthers playing for much more than pride this Saturday, their regular-season finale will be one to keep an eye on. Miami arrives at 9-2 overall and is still clinging to a slim chance at an ACC Championship berth and perhaps a shot at the College Football Playoff. Pittsburgh is 8-3 and is still in the mix to make the ACC title game as well. Before this huge game kicks off, you will find my Miami vs Pitt prediction right here.

This game is the final chance for both of these teams to keep their hopes to make the ACC title game alive. Miami needs a win and a ton of other results to go their way to make it to Charlotte. Pitt needs a win and a loss from either Virginia or SMU to get there.
Both teams enter having won their last games. Miami beat Virginia Tech convincingly to get to 5-2 in the ACC and Pittsburgh toppled Georgia Tech to improve its conference record to 6-1. With so much on the line, expect intensity and urgency from both sides.
Defensively, this matchup pits two of the nation’s top rushing defenses against each other. That could slow down ground games and force the offenses to rely on the pass. While both of these offenses are more than capable of throwing the ball, they may be more one-dimensional than usual in this contest.
Miami is led by quarterback Carson Beck. Beck is coming off a strong performance against Virginia Tech where he threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns. That game demonstrated that the Hurricanes’ passing attack remains dangerous even when the running game struggles.
Mason Heintschel is the quarterback for the Hurricanes. Heintschel has now won six of his first seven starts after stepping in for the injured Eli Holstein. The Panthers average 281.9 passing yards per game and their production has not fallen off completely since making the quarterback change.
Score Projection: Miami 28 – Pittsburgh 24
Win Probability: Miami 67%, Pittsburgh 33%
Miami appears to have the edge heading into this high-stakes ACC showdown. Their quarterback situation is a little more trustworthy and the Hurricanes still have a chance ot make the playoff, which should give them a motivational edge. Pittsburgh will fight hard at home, and I think the Panthers will cover the spread. But Miami should ultimately win this game.
