Michigan Wolverines vs Maryland Terrapins Prediction - 11/22/2025

The Michigan Wolverines (8–2) are set to take on the Maryland Terrapins (4–6) on Saturday. With Michigan in a three-way tie for third place in the Big Ten, they visit SECU Stadium in College Park hoping to close out their regular-season road slate strong. Maryland needs two straight wins to become bowl eligible and they will try to get a big win in this contest. Before kickoff from College Park, you can find my Michigan vs Maryland prediction below.
1. Michigan’s march toward a strong finish. Michigan comes into this game riding a four-game winning streak. Their defense has been a steadying force, and they have allowed 22 or fewer points in each game during this winning streak. A win in this game would keep the Wolverines within a game in the loss column of Ohio State and Indiana in the Big Ten standings with a game against Ohio State still to come.
2. Maryland’s season is spiraling. Maryland has dropped six straight games. The Terrapins have not only struggled to find offensive rhythm, but their defense has also suffered in recent weeks. Their head coach, Mike Locksley, is under pressure, and the program faces questions about its direction if they close the season poorly.
3. Freshman QB battle. Maryland’s QB, Malik Washington, is a true freshman with serious upside. He showed early-season bursts, but has struggled recently. Michigan's Bryce Underwood is also going through ups and downs during his freshman season and will try to lead his team to an upset win here.
Bryce Underwood has thrown for 1,951 yards, with 7 touchdowns against 5 interceptions. He’s not a pure pocket passer. He’s added 302 rushing yards and 5 rushing scores. Michigan hasn't asked Underwood to do too much, relying on their running game and their defense to bend opponents to their will.
Maryland freshman Malik Washington has thrown for 2,294 yards and 13 touchdowns, but also 7 picks. He’s added 283 yards on the ground with 4 rushing touchdowns. Earlier in the season he looked like a breakout star, but his recent struggles with turnovers have put the Terrapins in difficult spots.
Michigan should get the win in this contest from College Park. But I'm taking the points with the Terps as a home underdog. Michigan's offense isn't great by any stretch of the imagination and they could get off to a slow start here against a desperate Maryland team.
