The Ohio Bobcats (4-3, 2-1 MAC) are set to face the Eastern Michigan Eagles (2-6, 1-3 MAC) on Saturday at Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti. Ohio is still in the mix for a spot in the MAC championship game later in the season. But they will need to figure out how to win some games on the road to have a chance as the season goes on. Here, I break down this MAC matchup and give you my Ohio vs Eastern Michigan prediction.
Ohio finds itself in a tie for fourth place in the MAC this season at 2-1 in conference play. But the Bobcats have failed to win a single road game so far this year. They will need to change that here if they are going to stay in the picture to play for the MAC championship later in the year.
I am going to take my chances with Eastern Michigan to cover the spread as a home underdog in this contest. Ohio is clearly the better team going into this game. But the Bobcats' struggles away from home are a legitimate concern here and I think that the Eagles will keep things just competitive enough to cover the number on their home turf.
