The San Jose State Spartans are set to take on the Nevada Wolf Pack on Saturday afternoon in Mountain West play. San Jose State needs to win out to see bowl season, while Nevada is already out of bowl contention. San Jose State enters this game at 3–6 on the season and has to win its final three games to get to bowl season. The Spartans have lost three of their last four games and are officially out of room for error in their hunt for a bowl bid. Nevada enters at 1–8, trying to stop a long losing skid and get their first win of the season in Mountain West Conference competition. Nevada has lost its last two games by a combined score of 75-17 and they will try to stop the bleeding at home in this contest.
Nevada is 0-8 this season against FBS competition. Their lone win of the year came against Sacramento State out of the FCS. The Wolf Pack have lost by double-digits in three of their last four games and Nevada needs to do a better job of stopping the pass if they want to avoid a ninth straight loss against FBS competition this year.
San Jose State’s offense is run through quarterback Walker Eget, who has passed for nearly 2,950 yards this season with 17 touchdowns and just 5 interceptions. His connection with wideout Danny Scudero has been one of the few bright spots for SJSU this season. Scudero has over 1,100 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, making him the go-to target in big moments for the Spartans.
Nevada has rotated between quarterbacks throughout this season. They don't have a passer with 700 yards through the air this season. Finding some sort of consistency at quarterback has been a huge challenge for them and will likely continue to be a challenge here.

San Jose State enjoys a large talent gap on offense, especially through the air. Nevada’s defense may not be strong enough to slow them down. Given SJSU’s urgency to pick up a win and Nevada’s ongoing struggles, the Spartans should be able to win this game by double-digits.
