Syracuse vs Miami Pick & Prediction - 11/8/2025

The Syracuse Orange will travel south to take on the Miami Hurricanes. Syracuse might be happy to get out of the bleak weather in New York this time of year. But they may not enjoy playing a Miami team that will be looking to bounce back after suffering their second loss of the season last time out. Before kickoff from Hard Rock Stadium, you can find my Syracuse vs Miami prediction below.
Syracuse’s offense has been in serious trouble. After the loss of starting quarterback Steve Angeli early in the season, the Orange have struggled to find consistency and are averaging barely into the double‑digits in recent weeks. Syracuse is averaging just 12.0 points per game over the last five games since Angeli went down and it would take a Herculean effort for their offense to get going against the Canes.
Miami has the talent to dominate when they execute. The Hurricanes rank near the top of FBS in many major metrics. Their SP+ ranking is 13th compared to Syracuse’s 99th. Miami's defense allows 15.6 points per game and their offense is still efficient enough to impose its will. But mistakes on offense have resulted in two losses over the last three games for the Hurricanes and they are now no longer in control of their destiny in the race to make the ACC title game.
This feels like a game that Miami needs to win by a huge margin. It isn't enough to escape against a team like Syracuse whose offense has fallen off a cliff. Miami needs as many style points as they can get as they are in a position where they need wins and plenty of help to get back into a position to make the playoff.
Miami’s Carson Beck has faced criticism of late after the Hurricanes’ underwhelming outings over the last three weeks. But he is far more capable than Syracuse’s current situation at quarterback. The Orange started Rickie Collins in their last outing. He threw three interceptions and scored only one touchdown, while their freshman backup made a cameo that did little to inspire confidence.
Score Projection: Miami 41 – Syracuse 7
Win Probability: Syracuse 5% | Miami 95%
Miami isn't playing great by any stretch of the imagination this year. But they are in an ideal bounce back spot this week. Syracuse's offense has been dreadful since Angeli went down due to injury. That shouldn't change here, as the Miami defense should have their way with a backup quarterback. I'll lay the points with the Hurricanes at home in this one.
