Tulane Green Wave vs Temple Owls Prediction - 11/22/2025

The American Athletic Conference will see a huge matchup on Saturday as the Tulane Green Wave (8–2) travel to face the Temple Owls (5–5) at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Tulane enters with College Football Playoff positioning on the line, as they are in control of their own destiny in the race to make the AAC title game. Before these teams kick things off from Philly, continue reading to get my Tulane vs Temple prediction in college football.
Tulane’s College Football Playoff hopes: With an 8–2 overall record and 5–1 record in AAC play, Tulane remains in strong position for the conference title. A win over Temple would all but secure their path to the AAC Championship game. The Green Wave is ranked 24th in the country going into this contest and they could end up getting a playoff bid by virtue of being the highest-ranked conference champion in the Group of Five if they can win the AAC.
Temple’s season swing: The Owls enter at 5–5, having lost a tight one to Army (14–13) in their most recent outing. They have dropped two games in a row going into this contest and they have two more chances to become bowl eligible.
Home-field advantage: Tulane comes into this game with an undefeated record at home and a 3-2 record on the road. Temple is just 2-3 at home on the season and will try to take advantage of being on their home turf in this matchup.
Tulane – Jake Retzlaff: Retzlaff has been the engine of the Green Wave offense. Through 10 games, he’s completed 164 of 268 passes (61.2 %) for 2,195 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. He’s also a significant threat on the ground, rushing for 557 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Retzlaff’s dual-threat nature was on full display against Duke earlier this season, when he ran for four rushing touchdowns. That was a school record for a quarterback. His ability to beat teams with his legs and his arm makes him hard for defenses to contain.
Temple – Evan Simon: Simon has thrown for 1,847 yards this season with 22 touchdowns and just one interception. The low interception rate speaks to his strong decision-making, but he’ll be tested by a Tulane defense determined to lock in and help their team inch closer to a potential playoff berth.
Score Projection: Tulane 34 – Temple 24
Win Probability: Tulane 73%, Temple 27%
Both teams have plenty to play for in this contest. But I think that Tulane will have the upper hand in this matchup from Philly. Expect the Green Wave to move the ball effectively thanks to the unpredictability of Retzlaff, as Tulane should win by 10 or so to cover the number.
