This in-state rivalry game brings energy every season, and this year is no different. Western Michigan enters with a stronger overall season under their belt, leaning heavily on a ground-focused offense that has powered its rise during conference play. The Broncos are 6-1 in the MAC and have won three games in a row. A win here would guarantee them a spot in the conference title game, while they could still make it to Detroit with a loss.
Eastern Michigan will play its final home game of the season here and will look to rally behind a fanbase eager for one last positive moment in a season that has been disappointing. The Eagles have won two games in a row coming into this matchup, though, and they will try to upset their in-state rivals to ruin their chances of making it to the conference championship game.
The difference in this contest may come down to physicality.
