Bradley Blalock (2-5, 9.16 ERA) will take the mound for the Rockies in this game. The rookie right-hander has faced challenges this season, allowing 79 hits and 16 home runs over 55 innings. His ERA reflects the difficulties he's encountered against major league hitters. Against a Mariners lineup filled with power bats, tonight could be a bad night for Blalock.
The Mariners have not announced their starting pitcher for this game. Given that their playoff berth is secured, they may opt for a bullpen game or rest key starters. But whoever is starting for the Mariners tonight has an opportunity to make a good impression before the postseason.
