Both of these fighters have struggled in their recent bouts and will try desperately to get back into the win column in this matchup. Ricardo Ramos enters this fight dealing with pressure on multiple fronts. He is fighting on home soil in this bout and will want to put on a show to delight the fans in Rio. He has also lost three of his last four fights and needs to start winning fights to justify his position on the UFC roster. Two of Ramos' three losses over the last couple of years have come by submission and he will need to avoid being tapped out by a fighter in Ofli who has six career wins via sub.
Kaan Ofli has had a hard time since making his UFC debut. The Australian is 0-2 on UFC cards, losing his Ultimate Fighter finale in his first UFC bout and following that up with a loss to Muhammad Naimov. Ofli has had success racking up submissions previously in his career, but that skill has not translated to the big leagues of UFC just yet.
This is going to be an interesting fight in that both fighters are good at picking up submission wins. Ramos has seven career wins by submission, while Ofli has six submission wins of his own. That could result in both fighters trying to shoot takedowns and end things via submission. It could also prompt these fighters to try and avoid taking things to the ground, as one wrong move down there could mean a submission loss.
I am going to take Ricardo Ramos to win this fight by submission on home soil. Neither fighter has been all that impressive of late, but I do think that they will both avoid being submitted. Ramos should do enough to get the win, while Ofli drops to 0-3 on proper UFC cards by taking the loss in Brazil.
