The Atlanta Hawks and the Utah Jazz will meet in the NBA on Thursday in an interesting matchup at Delta Center. The Hawks have been playing well of late and they will try to continue to do so against a Jazz team that has struggled to start the season. Atlanta is entering this game on the heels of a strong run, sitting at 7-5 on the season and having won four of its past five games. They dominated the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday with a 133-100 road win thanks to a standout performance by Jalen Johnson (24 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists) and contributions from Onyeka Okongwu.
Utah sits at 4-7 and has been inconsistent, but they are coming off a 152-128 home win over the Indiana Pacers where Lauri Markkanen erupted for 35 points. The Jazz have serious injury issues. Key front-court piece Walker Kessler is out for the season with a torn labrum. Georges Niang and Kyle Anderson are also sidelined.
Atlanta is missing floor general Trae Young with a right knee sprain, though the group that is active has found an offensive rhythm. The Hawks have gone 5-2 on the road so far this year and they will try to continue to play well on the road in this matchup.
It is important to note that this is the second night of a back-to-back for the Hawks. They got a blowout win over the Kings last night and didn't have to play their hardest down the stretch in that game. But they still have to play a basketball game for the second night in a row and that could be tough for them.

I see this as a very close game on Thursday night in Utah. The Jazz are a bad team right now, but they should be competitive against a Hawks team that is missing its best player and dealing with fatigue from a back-to-back. I'll go with the Jazz to cover the spread and Utah could very well win this game outright as a home dog.
