Memphis has been inconsistent this season but arrives on a slight upswing after a 125-104 win over the Milwaukee Bucks in their most recent outing. Ja Morant returned from a left ankle injury and contributed 17 points and 10 assists, giving the Grizzlies added offensive punch. Jaren Jackson Jr. has been steady with around 18 points per game and remains a defensive anchor.
However, Memphis is dealing with a ton of injuries. Ty Jerome, Brandon Clarke, Scotty Pippen Jr., Zach Edey, John Konchar, and Vince Williams Jr. are all out for this game, and Jock Landale is questionable. Their depleted roster shifts more responsibility to Jackson Jr., Morant, and supporting pieces like Santi Aldama and Cam Spencer.
Washington’s season has been challenging, reflected in their 6-23 record. But they did score 138 points in a win over the Toronto Raptors in their last game behind CJ McCollum and Bilal Coulibaly. McCollum leads the team in scoring with nearly 19 points per game, though consistency for him and the rest of the roster remains an issue.
The Wizards continue to battle injuries. Cam Whitmore is out indefinitely with a blood clot, and Corey Kispert is out due to a hamstring issue. Malaki Branham and Kyshawn George are questionable.
