The Oklahoma City Thunder and Atlanta Hawks will face off in NBA action on Saturday night. The defending champions are off to a 2-0 start and have played four overtimes in those two games. The Oklahoma City Thunder have started the season with a perfect 2-0 record, with both victories coming in double overtime. Reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been exceptional, averaging 45 points per game, including a career-high 55-point performance against the Indiana Pacers. Despite missing key players like Jalen Williams and Alex Caruso, the Thunder have showcased depth, with Ajay Mitchell contributing significantly off the bench.
The Atlanta Hawks are 1-1 and got a win over the Orlando Magic last night. Trae Young has been leading the team, averaging 23.5 points and 5.5 assists per game. But the Hawks have struggled with consistency, particularly from the three-point line. They shot just 27.6% in their last game and need to be better than that if they want to beat the defending champs.
Atlanta is playing on the second night of a back-to-back in this game. That could negatively impact them in this matchup, as they are at a significant rest disadvantage. It is hard enough to beat the Thunder given how good they have been over the last couple of years. But adding fatigue into the equation could be a huge problem for the Hawks.

The biggest key to this game is going to be the rest advantage for the Thunder. Atlanta would have trouble guarding SGA even when fully rested. But things should get even tougher for them on defense when playing for the second straight night. I'll lay the points with OKC in this matchup, as the defending champions should move to 3-0 on the season, avoiding overtime this time around.
