Charlotte Hornets vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction - 10/25/2025

The Charlotte Hornets will travel to Philadelphia to face the 76ers on Saturday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Both teams enter the game with a 1-0 record and will try to get a second straight victory over an Eastern Conference opponent here. Before tip-off from Philly, continue reading to get my breakdown of this game, including my Hornets vs 76ers prediction.
The Hornets showcased a potent offense in their season opener, defeating the Brooklyn Nets 136-117. Brandon Miller led the charge with 25 points, while LaMelo Ball contributed 20 points and a team-high eight assists. The team displayed remarkable depth, with nine players scoring in double digits, setting a franchise record. They shot an impressive 53.3% from the field and 47.2% from beyond the arc. Charlotte will try to replicate that performance against the Sixers tonight.
The 76ers edged out the Boston Celtics 117-116 in their opener. Rookie VJ Edgecombe had a historic debut, scoring 34 points. That was the third-highest scoring NBA debut in history. Tyrese Maxey added 40 points in the win. But the team struggled with turnovers, committing 17 in the game. Joel Embiid's performance was underwhelming, scoring just four points on 1-of-9 shooting. He didn't play during crunch time and there will always be questions about his health until he is out there more consistently.
The injury report for this game has Paul George listed as out of action for this contest. George is expected to make his season debut within the next few days. But his absence could help the Hornets to hang around in this game from Philly.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Brandon Miller | Over 20.5 Points |
LaMelo Ball | Over 7.5 Assists |
VJ Edgecombe | Over 3.5 Three-Pointers Made |
Score Projection: Charlotte Hornets 117 – Philadelphia 76ers 111
Win Probability: Charlotte Hornets 55%, Philadelphia 76ers 45%
Both of these teams exceeded expectations in their season openers. But I think the Hornets have a real shot to win outright as an underdog on Saturday night. The Sixers should see some regression from Edgecombe in this contest and the Hornets have the shooters to keep this game close. I'll take the points with Charlotte in what could be the upset of the night in the NBA if Charlotte plays like they did on Wednesday.
