- The Jazz are going into this one with major personnel issues. Center Walker Kessler is out for the season with a torn labrum, removing one of their key rim protectors and rebounders. He had been averaging 14.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks in his five starts before the injury.
- The Jazz also have forward Georges Niang sidelined with a stress reaction in his left foot.
