The Washington Wizards will take on the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night at TD Garden. Boston comes into this game as a heavy favorite at home against the struggling Wizards. The Celtics are 3‑5 this season and the Wizards at 1‑6. Both teams have struggled early in the season, but Boston is expected to bounce back with a win here, according to the betting odds. Boston has had some struggles thanks to all of their roster turnover. But they have looked great compared to the Wizards, who have lost five straight games. Four of Washington's five straight losses have come by double-digits and the Wizards will try to remedy that with a more competitive performance tonight.
Both of these teams rank in the bottom half of the NBA in offensive rating this year. But the Wizards have been vastly worse than the Celtics in that department. Washington is 29th out of 30 NBA teams in offensive rating, with only the Dallas Mavericks ranking below them. If Washington wants any shot in this game, offensive efficiency will be the key.
Both teams are missing arguably their best players for this game. Jayson Tatum is out for the foreseeable future for Boston after tearing his Achilles during the playoffs last season. Washington is also without Khris Middleton due to injury, which will only make it harder for them to compete.

I think we will get another strong game out of a promising young player in Alex Sarr for the Wizards. But I think that is where the positives will end for Washington tonight. The Celtics should be able to win big in this game with just a respectable performance on the offensive end of the floor. I'll lay the points with a desperate Boston team, as they should end their two-game losing streak in style.
