The St. Louis Blues will visit the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night in a game between two teams trying to shake off sluggish starts. The Capitals have six wins and six losses to start their season. They are favored to get a win on home ice to get back above the .500 mark after this game. The Capitals have gone 6-5-1 overall and are 3-4 at home this season. They have lost four games in a row coming into this contest and have scored just five goals in those four games. They are under pressure to perform offensively at home tonight. The Blues are 4-7-2 overall and 2-3 on the road. They have just two wins in their last 10 outings (2-6-2). But the Blues did win their last game against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night and will try to build on that result.
The Capitals have a goaltending advantage going into this game. Logan Thompson has a stingy 1.51 GAA going into this matchup for the Caps. St. Louis' Jordan Binnington has been less effective with a 3.08 GAA. Binnington will need to step up if the Blues want to keep pucks out of their net as effectively as Washington in this game.

The Capitals have been struggling of late, but this is a great opportunity for them to bounce back and get a much-needed win. The Caps are at home here and should take advantage of the absence of Neighbours for St. Louis. I'll take the Capitals to win this game on the moneyline, but I'm not opposed to laying the puckline with them either.
