Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants Prediction & Preview - 1/4/2026

The New York Giants will host the Dallas Cowboys in the final game of the NFL season for these NFC East rivals. The Giants snapped a long losing streak in their last outing and they will try to get another win here against a Cowboys team that could finish the season at .500 with a win. Here, I break down what you can expect from these teams in this matchup and you can get my Cowboys vs Giants prediction below.

The biggest storyline going into this game is the NFL Draft positioning for the New York Giants. The Giants got a rare win last week against the Las Vegas Raiders, in a game between the two worst teams in the NFL this year. New York won that game, but lost ground in the race for the top pick in the draft. Another win would be horrible for the Giants' draft positioning, but would be great for their outlook going into next season around quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Dallas has given their all late in the season with Dak Prescott still on the field at quarterback. They got a win over the Washington Commanders on Christmas Day last week and they have some extra time to prepare for this matchup. With the Cowboys already having their franchise quarterback, they have no reason to tank in this game and should give it their all on Sunday afternoon in the Meadowlands.
Dak Prescott has thrown for 4,482 yards with 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions this season for the Cowboys. While Dallas' defense has let them down this year, Prescott has not let them down and he will try to finish the season on a high note here. Jaxson Dart has eclipsed the 2,000 yard mark for the Giants this season with 13 touchdowns and 5 picks. Dart should have Malik Nabers back next season and the future could be bright for New York next year with Dart under center.
Score Projection: Cowboys 27, Giants 20
Win Probability: Cowboys 57%, Giants 43%
The Cowboys lit up the Giants in their first meeting of the season and I expect them to do the same in this contest. I'll lay the points with the Cowboys in this game, as they should end their season with a .500 record, while the Giants secure a top-three spot in the upcoming NFL Draft.
