The Ducks are leading the Pacific Division going into Thursday's games and will try to continue shocking the hockey world in this contest. Anaheim enters with an impressive 8-3-1 record. They have one of the stronger offenses in the league, averaging 3.92 goals per game with a positive goal differential. The Ducks have scored 48 goals in total and conceded 37. Their +11 goal differential ranks third in the Western Conference so far this season.
Dallas sits at 7-3-3 despite a pedestrian offense thus far. They are averaging 2.69 goals per game and are 26th in the league in scoring. Their defense allows 2.92 goals per game and they have a -2 goal differential overall. Dallas won in a shootout against the Oilers in their last game and they will try to build on that here.

The Stars are deserved favorites at home here. But I can't help but back the Ducks based on how they have played so far this season. The Stars have a negative goal differential and I expect the Ducks to take advantage of their lack of offensive consistency. I'll go with the Ducks as an underdog in this interesting Western Conference contest.
