The Hurricanes snapped a three-game losing streak in their last game with a victory over the New Jersey Devils (3-1) providing a confidence boost after a rough stretch. Carolina is 25-14-3 on the season and currently sits atop the Metropolitan Division. Their offense remains productive, and they will try to use their attack to secure a second straight win. The Stars enter this game on a five-game winless streak, including an overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Dallas is still in second place in the Central Division, but will try to stop the bleeding here.
Goaltending remains a focal point for both of these teams teams. Carolina is expected to roll with Brandon Bussi, who recently earned a win with a 28-save performance and carries a strong record into this contest. The Stars will rely on Jake Oettinger, who has been on the hook for several of the recent goals allowed during Dallas’ skid. How each goalie performs could heavily influence the outcome of this game.
On offense, Dallas has some elite scoring depth. Mikko Rantanen leads the Stars with 57 points and brings incredible playmaking ability for others. Jason Robertson and Wyatt Johnston provide scoring in bunches as well, making Dallas one of the top offensive teams league-wide. Sebastian Aho is leading the Hurricanes in points, while Nikolaj Ehlers has heated up recently and joined the team’s group of contributors. Both teams have multiple scoring threats capable of changing the game in an instant.

I can't justify taking the Dallas Stars right now given the way they have been playing of late. I'll take the Hurricanes to get the win in this contest against a Stars team that has given up four goals in each of their last five games.
