The Panthers have been solid in their last dozen games, including their recent 5-3 victory over the Washington Capitals, where they scored late to secure the win. Over their last several outings, Florida has shown the ability to generate offense and finish off opponents, winning three of their last five games. Montreal has also gone 3-2 over their last five games, highlighted by a decisive 6-2 win over Boston, where they erupted for four third-period goals. These teams are both in the top four in the Atlantic Division and a win here would be huge for them in the standings.
Florida’s veteran netminder Sergei Bobrovsky continues to provide stability in goal, making key saves and winning big games for his club. He has a 2.80 GAA, though his .888 save percentage does leave something to be desired. Montreal’s goaltending situation has involved a few players, though Sam Montembeault appears on track to start this game. Montembeault has had a rough year, with a 3.65 GAA.
Sam Reinhart and Brad Marchand have led the Panthers offensively, with Marchand extending his point streak and Reinhart heating up at the right time. For Montreal, Nick Suzuki remains the driving force offensively with an ability to generate both goals and assists.
Player | Stat Type | Projection |
|---|---|---|
Sam Reinhart | Points | Over 0.5 |
Brad Marchand | Points | Over 0.5 |
Nick Suzuki | Points | Over 0.5 |
Score Projection: Montreal 3 – Florida 2
Win Probability: Montreal 52%, Florida 48%
This should be a competitive game, but I think the scheduling spot for the Panthers will be too much for them to overcome. They are playing on the second game of a back-to-back here, which should help the Habs to secure a win on the road as a slight underdog.
