New York has endured a rough patch of late, losing four straight and seven of its last eight games. The club has been impacted by a rash of injuries, with notable absences including defenseman Adam Fox and goalie Igor Shesterkin, slowing the Rangers’ ability to find consistency. Veteran goalie Jonathan Quick has been pressed into frequent starts, but the results have not materialized with the team dropping the last several outings in which he has appeared. One of those games was a 10-2 loss to the Boston Bruins, and the Rangers will try to recover from their recent struggles tonight.
Meanwhile, the Senators are also dealing with performance issues, having lost four of their last five games entering Wednesday night. The Sens are dealing with inconsistent goaltending, prompting the club to sign veteran James Reimer to stabilize that position. Ottawa snapped a multi‑game skid with a win over Vancouver in their last game and now looks to build on that momentum against a struggling Rangers lineup.
