Arizona State and Iowa State will meet in Week 10 of the college football season on Saturday afternoon. Both of these teams were ranked earlier in the season but have fallen out of the top 25 thanks to their recent performances. They will try to get back on track here in a big game in the Big 12. One of the central storylines heading into this game is the injury situation for Arizona State. Their starting quarterback, Sam Leavitt, has been ruled out for this contest after undergoing surgery on a lingering foot issue. He has 1,628 passing yards, 10 touchdowns, and three interceptions this season. That absence forces backup Jeff Sims into the starter’s role in a high‑stakes Big 12 road game.
Iowa State is seeking to put a three‑game losing streak behind them after beginning the year at 5‑0. Quarterback Rocco Becht has thrown for 1,933 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions so far. The Cyclones also feature a solid rushing duo of Abu Sama III (544 yards) and Carson Hansen (500 yards). But the Cyclones have been let down by their defense lately, giving up over 35 points in two of their last three games.
With Leavitt out, the Sun Devils will have to rely on Jeff Sims, who has limited experience this season. He went 18/38 for 124 yards and was sacked five times in his lone start of the year. Iowa State’s Rocco Becht brings more continuity to their passing attack. But Becht has had a tendency to turn the ball over and he will try to put a stop to that to help his team get their sixth win of the season and lock up a bowl bid.

Win Probability: Arizona State 30%, Iowa State 70%
The quarterback situation for Arizona State is not an encouraging one at this point in time. Sam Leavitt had been playing effectively before going down due to injury. Sims is unlikely to provide the same level of production, especially on the road against a conference opponent. I'll take Iowa State to win and cover the spread on their home turf to end their three-game losing streak.
