Eastern Michigan and Miami (OH) are scheduled to play in the MAC on Saturday afternoon. The Redhawks are heavy favorites at home here, as they look to get above the .500 mark for the year with a win. Will the Redhawks get the job done, or will Eastern Michigan pull off an upset? Continue reading to get my Eastern Michigan vs Miami (OH) prediction.
Betting Odds | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
Miami (OH) | -13.5 | -550 | Over 47.5 |
Eastern Michigan | +13.5 | +380 | Under 47.5 |
Eastern Michigan's Noah Kim has been a steady presence under center for the Eagles. He has thrown for 1,483 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions. By the standards of MAC quarterbacks, he is a very good one. But he will have to prove himself on the road against one of his conference's best defenses this week.
Miami (OH)'s DeQuan Finn has shown flashes of brilliance, accumulating 838 passing yards and 274 rushing yards. But he has also thrown more interceptions than touchdown passes this season. Finn needs to take better care of the football if Miami (OH) is going to win here and stay undefeated in the MAC.
Eastern Michigan is 1-2 in the MAC heading into this game. They lost their first two conference games on the road against Buffalo and Central Michigan. They finally got on the board in conference play last week against Northern Illinois at home. The Eagles will hope that their trend of winning at home and losing on the road in the MAC does not continue this week.
Miami (OH) has won each of its first two conference games this year. They won on the road against Northern Illinois and Akron to start their conference campaign. Both of those wins came by double-digits and the Redhawks are expected to get another double-digit win in their first conference home game of the season.
Miami (OH) got off to a rough start this season against quality competition. But they look like they are up to the challenge against MAC opponents so far this year. I expect the Redhawks to play well in their first conference home game of the season. Miami (OH) should cover the spread against Eastern Michigan in this one.
